Maurita Cavanough

Jinjiwala, I am originally from Ballina and have ties to the Arakwal, Nyanbal and Dunghutti lands and people. I have worked in the early childhood sector for the last 20 years and I have been the Director of Jarjum Centre from 2012; holding a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching and a Master in Education. I have served on several Board’s, hold an interest in Indigenous research and pedagogy, including anything community driven because I know that’s what works!

As a mother of 4, I understand the critical importance of early childhood, and systems that work for Goori people.

I believe that Jarjum Centre has positioned itself to continue to provide an excellent service to local families into the future.
