Jarjum Midjang Sensory Centre and Playgroup
Jarjum Midjang Sensory Centre and Playgroup is a trauma informed space and a specialised Sensory Room, designed to enhance sensory play and aid in the effects of trauma.
Jarjum Midjang uses sensory equipment to create a sensory-focused environment to aid in reducing stress and anxiety.
Sensory play is suitable for children of all ages, but at this point in time our focus is on the ‘early years’ to preschool age groups, as it is an important time for a child’s brain development.
Sensory play helps in early learning development stages, enhancing sensory processing, motor skills and cognitive growth.
Jarjum Midjang Sensory Play Centre is a fun space to play, learn, grow and be creative
Trauma informed space and a specialised Sensory Room
Jarjum Centre would like to provide our Community Partners who are engaged with children and families, the opportunity to hire the Sensory Play Centre.
Our aim to provide a calming fun space for small groups of parents and jarjums, (ages from 0-5 years). Sensory play aids in reducing stress and anxiety; aids in early learning stages; motor and cognitive growth.
Our future aim is to create an emotional health and wellbeing ‘healing hub ‘ and be able to provide our Aboriginal children &, families with ongoing support to help them with the effects of trauma; to navigate through their children’s ‘early years’.
